The Jeep XJ utilizes a coil springtime front suspension with a leaf spring rear suspension.
Front suspension

The Quadra-Link front suspension design locates the axle with four leading controls arms to manage longitudinal activity and rotation about the horizontal axis (drive and braking effect), two over the axle as well as 2 below it.
